Snapology is the science of snapping toys together.
Well, ok, not really. Snapology is the name we came up with to describe a new learning concept that combines play with education.
We provide a fun environment for children to learn math, science, technology, engineering and literacy concepts using Lego® bricks and other similar building tools.
Playing with Lego® bricks is educational? Get out!
That's right! The children will have so much fun, they won't even realize they're learning. In our classes and camps, the children are guided by instructors through an interactive lesson followed by model building and/or computer work. Plus, since the children typically work in teams, they also work on social skills as they make new friends. Our programs are designed to inspire creativity and promote teamwork.
Two Sisters
Snapology was created by two sisters, Lisa and Laura Coe, who observed the love their children had for creative play using building blocks and other materials that snap together. The idea of offering enrichment classes and camps to teach science, mathematics, technology and literacy concepts excited them given both of their backgrounds in mathematics and science.
Laura Coe holds a BS in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University. She has been employed as an Actuary (pronounced 'math geek') in the healthcare industry for the past 20 years. Laura has a broad background in mathematics, statistics and finance. Laura is also an active member in the South Fayette Elementary School PTA and is the mother of two wonderful young boys.
Lisa Coe holds a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh. She has been employed as Pharmacist and Consultant in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry for the past 23 years. Lisa has extensive experience in sales, marketing and strategic business management. She is blessed to be the mother of a beatiful little boy.
Both Laura and Lisa currently live in Pittsburgh, PA.
