Many of us have memories of great summer camps or have heard the stories from our friends, and as summer rolls around you want to give your child those same experiences that they’ll remember and retell for the rest of their lives.
With so much choice, it can be difficult to decide which camps are going to give your child the best experience. Fortunately, we’ve rounded up five of our favorites in the Amarillo, TX area to help you narrow down your search.
1. Snapology

2. Amarillo Zoo Safari Camp
Does your child love animals? If so, they are going to love the Amarillo Zoo summer camp Each day campers will explore the world of wildlife through arts and crafts, games, activities, behind-the-scenes tours, and more. Each camp week is limited to just 15 campers, so they’ll receive a personalized and intimate experience where they’ll make new close friends. The camp is suitable for 7-12-year olds.
3. Girl Scout Summer Camp
The Girl Scouts of Texas have the summer camps for girls in Texas who are ready to get out in nature. They have camps all over Texas, so your child can choose to go for a day, a week, or even longer! The girls will take part in activities like horseback riding, archery, climbing, astrology, and a range of other fun camp activities!
4. Amarillo Parks and Recreation
If you want to stay close to home then look no further than Amarillo Parks and Recreation which run all through the summer, from June through August. Ages 7-13 are welcome and the campers will be able to take part in baseball, basketball, football, soccer and volleyball camps, so if you kid loves sport they are sure to find a camp here to suit them!
5. Camp Tankanta at West Texas A&M
Camp Tatanka at West Texas A&M University offers children an exciting summer day program for children aged 7-11, lasting from 8 AM to 4 PM. Activities include archery, bowling, arts and crafts, sports, swimming, and a field trip to a museum, so your child will be able to participate in a wide range of summer activities!
